### What is Bakvora?
Bakvora is a Windows backup application by Generix Solutions Global. It schedules, verifies and encrypts backups of folders, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and full system images, and sends them to local disks, network shares or FTP/FTPS/SFTP servers.
### Which versions of Windows are supported?
Windows 7 SP1, 8.1, 10 and 11, and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and later. Bakvora runs on .NET Framework 4.8.
### Does Bakvora upload my data to its own cloud?
No. Bakvora has no cloud storage of its own. Your backups go only to the destinations you configure. Our servers are contacted only for license activation and update checks.
### How is my backup encrypted?
Each job uses a unique AES-256 key, which is wrapped with a password-derived key (PBKDF2) and with Windows DPAPI. You can restore silently on the original machine, or on any machine using the job password.
### What happens if I forget the job password?
On the original machine you can still restore thanks to DPAPI. On a different machine the password is required and cannot be recovered by us — please store it safely.
### Can Bakvora restore databases as well as back them up?
Yes. SQL Server and Oracle backups can be restored from within Bakvora. Oracle restores replace existing tables so the result matches the backup exactly.
### How does the free trial work?
Download and install Bakvora, then choose “Start free trial”. You get every Professional feature for 30 days on one machine. When you buy, enter your key and all jobs are kept.
### Subscription or perpetual — which should I choose?
A subscription has a lower upfront cost and always includes updates and support. A perpetual license is paid once and never expires; renewing maintenance each year is optional and keeps you on the latest version.
### What happens when my subscription expires?
Scheduled backups pause until you renew. Your jobs, history and settings are kept, and existing backup files remain yours and restorable.
### Can I move my license to a new computer?
Yes. Contact support with your license key and we will release it so you can activate it on the replacement machine.
